I have watched the promotion decisions. The board seat votes. The C-suite shortlists. The compensation reviews. The partnership offers.

I have sat in meetings where your name was on the whiteboard, and I have watched, quietly, as the decision went in a different direction.

The person who got the seat was not more qualified than you.
